Top Cover
Removing the Top Cover and Backup Battery
To remove the T4500/T4600 Family computer’s top cover, follow the steps below and refer to
Figures 4-8 and 4-9.
1. Turn off the power to the computer; disconnect the AC adapter, power cord and all external
cables connected to it.
2. Remove the battery pack, optional memory card and optional PCMCIA card(s) as described
in sections 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4.
3. Remove the two M2.5x6 silver screws securing the top cover, at the back corners of the
computer (Figure 4-8).
4. Pull open the port cover on the back of the computer and take out the protective plastic
bar seated above the ports (Figure 4-8).
5. Remove the two M2.5x4 silver screws that were covered by the plastic bar (Figure 4-8).
6. Carefully remove the expansion bus cover (Figure 4-8).
