Optional PCMCIA Card(s)
Removing the Optional PCMCIA Card(s) & Disassembling the Slot
To remove an optional PCMCIA card from the T4500/T4600 Family computer or to disassemble
the slot, follow the steps below and refer to Figures 4-5 through 4-7:
1. Turn off the power to the computer; disconnect the AC adapter, power cord and all external
cables connected to it.
2. Remove the battery pack as described in Section 4.2.
3. Lift up the outer plastic cover on the PCMCIA card slot and carefully disengage the two
latches on the sides of the cover to remove it (Figure 4-5).
4. Open the display.

NOTE: If a PCMCIA card(s) is installed, go to Step 5. If a card(s) is not installed, go to
Step 9. The remaining figures in this section refer specifically to the T4600/C and are
slightly different from how the T4500/C will appear, which supports only one PCMCIA card.
5. To remove a card from slot 2 (T4600/C only), unlatch the top half of the inner plastic
cover and swivel it downward to expose the slot, PCMCIA card, and card release button.
Press the button to release the card from its slot (Figure 4-6).
