8.1.4 Tip Holder Check
•
Use “Flextest.key” in this test
- Set KF96 plate to plate position 1
- Select “h plate level”
- Select “h well bottom”
- Plate should not move when tips go into wells, but the tips should be as close as possible
to the bottom of the wells (gap between tip and bottom of well less than approx. 0,2 mm).
- Select “h up”.

When needed to adjust the tip holder, refer to Section 8.3.5, on page 8-11.
8.1.5 Tip Shield Check
•
Use “Flextest.key” in this test
- Select “shield on”
- Check that shield is directly below and in the middle of the tips comb
- Select “shield off”.

When needed to adjust the tip shield, refer to Section 8.3.12, on page 8-14.
8.1.6 Heating Assembly Check
•
Use “Flextest.key” in this test
- Make sure that tip comb and magnet head are in place
- Set KF96 plates to plate positions 1 to 8
- Select “heater up”
- Check that KF96 plate is properly set to the changeable heating block. The changeable
heating block should rise smoothly inside the plate without scratching the plate nor lifting it
from turn table
- Select “heater down”
- Select “H alignment check”
- Check that all KF96 plates are properly set to the changeable heating block
- Select “tip unload” to remove tip comb
- Remove KF96 plates.

When needed to adjust, refer to Section 8.3.11, on page 8-13.
8.1.7 Offset Report
•
Use “Flextest.key” in this test
•
Select “report off” --> You will receive a report with following information:
- VER KingFisher Flex x.x 711-xx (= KF96, eprom version, serial # of the instrument)
- REP 1 – offsets of the adjustments
- REP 2 – name of the instrument
- REP 3 – accelerations of the motors
- REP 4 – memory and protocols
