NOTE:
The wing units are fitted with automatic cutoff
valves, to stop the cylinders rotating, and operate
when the unit lift arm is raised above 20° from the
ground. The drive will automatically be engaged
again when the unit is lowered.
TRANSPORTING
Safety catches (fig. 56) must always be in
place when transporting the mower.
When the machine is to be transported over
long distances the P.T.O. drive should be
disengaged to stop circulation of oil in the
hydraulic system.
NOTE
: It may be necessary, if a high height of cut
setting is being used, to reduce the height of cut on
units 6 and 7 to ensure that the overall transport width
of the machine is within the maximum legal limit of
2.5m (8’2½”).
REVERSING
Reversing the mower with the units in the
lowered position should only be done when the
machine is on well grassed areas and without
obstructions.
SHORT SLOPES OR BANKS
These can be cut with the tractor on level
ground by using either units 4 and 6 (right-
hand) or units 5 and 7 (left-hand) on the slope.
The maximum slope that can be cut by this
method is 30° upward and 20° downward.
IMPORTANT:
When individual units are not required
for mowing they must be locked by their safety
catches in their raised transport positions.
