OPERATING THE MOWER
Read the Safety Instructions.
CONTROLS
1. The hydraulic controls are mounted on a panel
at the rear of the driver and the levers protrude
forward to a convenient position for easy
control of the operation of all the cutting units.
The five control levers on the right-hand side
operate the lift ram valves and the three control
levers on the left-hand side operate the drive
valves for driving three groups of cylinders as
shown.
2. The lift control valves have three operating
positions (A, B and C fig. 44).
(a) Push downwards (position A) for lowering the
units to the cutting and “float” position.
(b) Pull upwards (position B) to raise the cutting
units.
(c) Central (position C) - neutral.
3. The drive control valves also have three
positions (D, E and F fig. 45):
(a) Push downwards (position D) to drive the
cutting cylinders in forward rotation (cutting).
(b) Pull upwards (position E) to drive the cutting
cylinders in reverse rotation (backlapping or
clearing cylinders).
(c) Central (position F) to stop rotation of cylinders
(neutral).

4. The cutting units can be operated
independently of each other and the diagram
(fig. 46) shows the position of the levers and
the unit which the lever controls
(see inset - fig 46).
Lever A - Lifts and lowers units 1,2, and 3
Lever B - Lifts and lowers unit 4
Lever C - Lifts and lowers unit 6
Lever D - Lifts and lowers unit 5
Lever E - Lifts and lowers unit 7
Lever F - Controls drive to units 4 and 6
Lever G - Controls drive to units 1, 2 and 3
Lever H - Controls drive to units 5 and 7
