5.4. Multidrop, RS-232 Option
The Multidrop Option is used with the serial port to enable communications with
several instruments over a single RS-232 cable. Additional hardware is required
(available from the Factory) allowing multiple instruments to be connected to a
single Serial I/O port. Similar operation can be achieved by using the COM2 port
configured for RS-485.
The setup and instructions for use of this mode is covered in the Multidrop Manual
P/N 018420000.
5.5. Ethernet Interface Option
An optional 10BaseT Ethernet interface is available, contact T-API sales for price
and availability that permits the M300E to be connected to a local area network
running TCP/IP. This allows a user to control and download data from an M300E
over either an intranet or the public Internet using APIcom or certain other
specialized software products.
The setup and instructions for using this option are provided as a separate
document.
5.6. Dilution Ratio Option
The Dilution Ration Option is a software option that is designed for applications
where the Sample gas is diluted before being analyzed by the Model 300E.
Typically this occurs in Continuous Emission Monitoring (CEM) applications where
the quality of gas in a smoke stack is being tested and the sampling method used
to remove the gas from the stack dilutes the gas.
Once the degree of dilution is known, this feature allows the user to add an
appropriate scaling factor to the analyzers CO concentration calculation so that the
Measurement Range and concentration values displayed on the instrument’s Front
Panel Display and reported via the Analog and Serial Outputs reflect the undiluted
values.
Instructions for using the Dilution Ration Option can be found in Section 6.4.8.
