6.10.3.
iDAS Record Structure
Each iDAS record file is comprised of three principal objects:
data parameters
,
triggering events
, and
data channels
. Data Parameters define the type of data
being recorded and how; triggering events define when it is recorded and; Data
Channels relate Triggering Events to Data Parameters and define certain
operational functions related to the recording and reporting of the data.
6.10.3.1. Data Channels
The key to the iDAS’ flexibility is its ability to allow the user to create a vast number
of combinations of Triggering Events and Data Parameters in the form of Data
Channels. Users may create as many separate Data Channels as is allowed by
available memory space. For each channel one triggering Event is selected and any
number of Data Parameters (again only limited by available memory).
Each data channel has several properties that define the structure of the channel
and allow the user to make certain operational decisions regarding the channel.
