ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL
MAINTENANCE & SERVICING
08
ENGINE COOLANT LEVEL :
Check whether the coolant level is
between the ‘MIN’ and ‘MAX’ marks
on the coolant reservoir.
When the coolant levels is low, slowly
pour 50% mixture of demineralized
water & recommended coolant through
filler of auxiliary tank until the level
approaches the max level line.
NOTE
In case of emergency, a large
amount of water without engine
coolant may be added in order to
reach a vehicle service location.
Whenever coolant has been added, the
coolant level in the coolant reservoir
should be checked the next few times
you drive the vehicle. If necessary, add
enough engine coolant to bring the
coolant level to the proper level.
For location of Engine coolant
container & filler cap, please refer
respective Engine compartment
pages.
NOTE
Topping of the coolant should be
done in the auxiliary tank only.
Do not mix different colors or types of
coolant in your vehicle. Make sure that
only recommended coolant is used.
Mixing of engine coolants may harm
your engine’s cooling system and its
components. This may void the
warranty. Use recommended engine
coolant meeting the
TATA MOTORS
specification.
Do not add extra inhibitors or additives
to the coolant. These can be harmful
and compromise the corrosion
protection of the engine coolant.
WARNING
1. Do not add/check coolant when
the engine is hot. Steam and
scalding liquids released from a
hot cooling system can burn you
badly. Also, you can be burned if
coolant is spilt on the hot engine
parts.
2. Coolant expands when it is hot.
The level may extend beyond the
MAX mark.
For location of Engine coolant container
& filler cap, please refer respective
Engine compartment pages.
