IMPORTANT NOTICE:
WARRANTY DISCLAIMER
Please DO NOT attempt to load or use these old tape cartridge types:
DC600A, DC6150, QD6150, DC6250, QD6250, DC6320, DC6525, QD6525 or tape cartridges with variants of
these names…
in your SLR7, SLR50, SLR60, SLR75, SLR100 or SLR140 tape drive.
The user must take precaution never to use or even load such cartridges on this SLR multi-channel drive.
Warranties related to the drive's magnetic head are immediately void if a head is damaged due to use or an
attempt to use this kind of tape cartridge.
Use of older tape cartridge types on this SLR multi-channel drive:
This SLR7-140 multi-channel drive is designed to give the user the highest possible performance and quality by
utilizing modern tape cartridge and head technology. The drive contains an advanced thin film head with sensitive
magneto-resistive (MR) read elements designed to meet the requirements given by the high bit and track density
used in this drive.
This thin film head with its MR elements is designed to work only with the particular tape types specified for use with
your drive.
Use of other tape media may damage the head beyond repair!
Cartridges having older types of tape media, and specifically 550 Oe (Oersted) media
(DC600A, DC6150, QD6150,
DC6250, QD6250, DC6320, DC6525, QD6525 or tape media with variants of these names)
are harmful for heads
equipped with MR elements. These tape types were generally designed more than 15 years ago and contain large
abrasive particles designed to clean older metal and ferrite heads. Even just loading such cartridges into your SLR
multi-channel drive may damage the MR head and could cause a temporary or permanent drive failure to occur.
These cartridge types shall never be used with a SLR7-140 tape drive.
