From home phone tab
The
From Home Phone
tab allows you to set the transfer prefix. Dialing the transfer prefix
indicates you will manually transfer a call from a phone connected in parallel to the TalkSwitch
unit, to an extension or voice mailbox within the TalkSwitch unit. It is equivalent to pressing
Flash
or
Recall
or
Link
on a local extension.
This is required if you have a phone connected to the same telephone line as the TalkSwitch
unit, but the phone is not connected to the TalkSwitch unit itself (i.e. the phone and the
TalkSwitch unit are connected in parallel to the telephone line).
For example, a home-based business has one telephone line. A home phone is connected to the
line through a wall jack in the kitchen. The TalkSwitch unit is connected to the same line
through a wall jack in the office. Therefore the home phone is connected in parallel to the
TalkSwitch unit.
Remote extension 210 is set up to route calls to the owner’s cell phone. The owner lets the
TalkSwitch unit answer the phone during the day, but answers the home phone at night and on
weekends. If a family member answers the home phone at night while the owner is away, they
can manually transfer a business call to the owner’s cell phone. To do this, they dial the transfer
prefix (
**
or
*#
), wait for the double beep, dial the remote extension number (
210
), and then
hang up. The TalkSwitch system then routes the call to the owner’s cell phone.
1. Select the

tab.
2. Select the transfer prefix. Choices are:

Call Reminders
The
Call Reminders
command allows you to set reminder timers. When a reminder timer
expires, the phone rings indicating a caller is on hold or parked. In addition, a queued caller
hears a prompt when the
Queue options reminder timer
expires.
This feature only works with PBXs that use hook flash as a transfer method. Please contact
your PBX manufacturer for transfer details.
