2.3 Installing the Rails
This section provides information on installing the chassis into a rack unit with the rails
provided. Due to the variety of rack units on the market, the assembly procedure might differ
slightly. Also refer to the installation instructions that came with the rack unit you are using.
Identifying the Rails
The chassis package includes two rack rail assemblies in the rack mounting kit. Each
assembly consists of an inner rail that secures to the chassis and an outer rail that attaches
to the rack. Each assembly is specifically designed for the left or right side of the chassis.
Warning:
Do not pick up the server with the front handles. They are designed to pull
the system from a rack only.
Slide rail mounted equipment is not to be used as a shelf or a work space.
