Air Shroud
Generally you do not need to remove the air shrouds to perform any service on the system.
However, if you need to temporarily remove one (the air shroud should always be in place
when the system is operating), follow this procedure.
Air shrouds concentrate airflow to maximize fan efficiency. They do not require screws to set
up.
Installing an Air Shroud
Begin by removing power from the system as described in Section 3.1 and removing the
chassis cover.
•
Main—Place the air shroud in the chassis. Insert the front tabs of the air shroud into the
gaps on the back of the middle fan bracket.
•
Small (rear)—Place the air shroud in front of the power supply section and tighten the two
screws on the chassis.
