4.2.1 HYDRAULIC
SYSTEM
The machine is provided with a hydraulic oil reservoir with a 345 liter capacity (18 in Fig. 20) complete
with a housing for the oil drain
fi
lter and pressurized
fi
ll plug (0.2 bar).
The reservoir also features a side cap for inspecting and cleaning the reservoir.
DANGER
Open the pressure discharge valve to discharge residual pressure from the reservoir before ser-
vicing it.
The system is controlled by a variable pump with a rotary axial piston body and a tilted plate for open
circuits. The pump is also supplied with a “load sensing” device and a power controller.
Three spool load sensing monoblock valve.
The proportional load sensing control measures the speed in a proportional manner to the movement of
the multiple function lever and resets the pump when winches are not in use.
This system allows for reduced dispersion of power and heat.
The machine is supplied with solenoid valves (both single and double).
These solenoids have the following function:
•
the
fi
rst solenoid is a double valve that controls both the free fall and low pressure in the main hose.
This valve must be enabled to allow for system operation;
• the second solenoid controls the boom down end-of-stroke whenever the machine is in tip-over condi-
tions (ATP version);
• the third solenoid opens/closes the piping that controls boom up movements as the end-of-stroke point
during boom kick-out;
• the fourth solenoid opens/closes the piping that controls hook up movements: it serves as the end-of-
stroke device (ATB) and is engaged if the machine is about to tip over (ATP).
TERMINOLOGY USED IN THIS MANUAL
JOYSTICK
All the machine movements and boom lowering/lifting are controlled from the operator control
station by means of multiple function levers (joystick) that move cross-wise and engage both the hook
and boom winches. For further details on how the joystick works refer to the section «4.3.1 Controls and
control devices».
BOOM KICKOUT
When the boom is controlled to lift, the strut bar moves in and engages the cursor which
stops the boom lift by means of a limit switch. The boom cannot raise any further and a buzzer triggers.
ANTI-TWO BLOCK
When the hook block is controlled to lift all the way up, an electronic system connected
to the hook winch stops the hook in a pre-set position.
