:
If the machine engine is required to operate indoors, make sure that the place is properly ventilated.
Connect an extension to the exhaust in order to evacuate gases outdoors:
open doors and windows
to let fresh into the work place.
• Comply with existing laws for the use and dumping of products to clean and maintain the machine. Also
follow the instructions given by the producer of these products.
• Store the labels and instructions of these products. If fuel oils or other chemicals are swallowed, go for
«First Aid», bringing with you the labels and instructions mentioned above.
• Do not dump batteries. They must be given to authorized dumping companies or bodies.
• Dump waste according to the relevant laws of the country where the machine is operated.
• If the machine needs dismantling, comply with the pollution rules of the country where the machine is
operated.
• Incorrect disposal of
fl
uids may cause serious damage to the environment. For the above, before di-
sposing of any
fl
uid, get familiar with the existing laws.
• Drain
fl
uids into suitable containers: do not use food or beverage containers.
• Keep sparks and
fl
ames away from the battery: they may cause the battery to explode.
• The battery contains sulphur acid and produces poisonous gases: handle with extreme care.
• When working with the battery, place it in a properly ventilated area and wear goggles and rubber
gloves.
• Do not charge a frozen battery: it may burst.
• During recharge operations, lead batteries generate hydrogen and oxygen, which is an explosive mi-
xture. Keep away from free
fl
ames.
• DO NOT DUMP FLUIDS TO THE GROUND, SEWAGE OR RIVERS. COMPLY WITH THE ENVI-
RONMENTAL RULES AND THE REGULATIONS FOR DISPOSING OF OIL, FUEL, BATTERY AND
OTHER POLLUTING SUBSTANCES.
• To check the electrolyte level in poor lighting conditions, use a
fl
ashlight (torch): do not use a
fl
ame.
To prevent sparks from developing at the battery poles during recharge with a battery charger, discon-
nect the charger from the main power source before connecting (or disconnecting) the clamps to (from)
the poles.
During recharge, all the caps covering the battery elements must be slackened in order to favor the
release of the gases that form during this operation.
The acid in the battery burns the skin, tears clothes and causes blindness if it comes into contact with
the eyes.
If the battery
fl
uid contacts the skin or clothes, immediately wash your skin and clothes with water and
soap.
If it contacts the eyes, immediately wash them with running water and report the event to a doctor or
go to First Aid.
•
DO NOT DUMP RUN DOWN BATTERIES IN THE ENVIRONMENT.
