Spacer bush
In order to prevent a reduction in the transmissible torque and an increased switching time due to magnetic
stray flux, the following constructional measures for magnetic insulation must be taken:
• The shaft or spacer bush (103) under the armature plate (3) must be at least 4 mm smaller than the bore (D)
of the armature plate in external diameter (D4). If that is not possible, the shaft and the spacer bush must be
made of non-magnetisable material.
• The carrier (4) is finished as standard in a non-magnetisable material, e.g. brass, with a minimum hardness
of 140 HB 10. However, under specific conditions the use of steel is also possible. Should the carrier be
made of steel, the application case must be checked. In this case, it is necessary to consult with Stromag’s
Customer Care department.
