Design, task and function of the assembly groups and components
Design
The clutch is an electromagnetic tooth clutch without a slip ring, which transmits the torque through spur gear-
ings to the inner body and armature plate. The clutch is released by the force of the locking spring. The clutch is
preferably intended for machine tools. It is a hub clutch designed for installation in gearboxes, not for the con-
nection of two shafts. The coil in the coil body has been firmly potted in a synthetic resin. The coil body is stored
on the inner body and must be prevented from turning by the customer via a torsional limitation.
Mode of function
• Engaging the clutch (electrical)
• Releasing the clutch (using spring force)
If the coil (5) is activated with direct current, the armature plate (3) is pulled towards the inner body (2) against
the force of the locking springs (6). The spur gearings mesh and the clutch is engaged. During the axial move-
ment of the armature plate, it is engaged in the external teeth of the carrier (4). When switching off the direct
current, the locking springs press the armature plate out of the spur teething ring of the inner body. Both clutch
halves are now completely separated from one another. Idling friction therefore does not occur, allowing high
relative speeds. The clutch should preferably be operated in wet operation under oil mist. The clutch can also
work in dry operation outside of gearboxes, unless external influences (dirt or dust) must be reckoned with.

The coil has only been designed for the given voltage according to the marking on the product and 100% rela-
tive duty cycle. Other voltages are possible. The coil connection cable occurs via AMP receptacles 6,3 x 0,8
(included in the scope of delivery) on a two-pole connecting terminal (15), that is attached to the outside of the
coil body (1).
