OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Sect. 5.8 OPERATIONS REQUIRED AFTER USE
MACHINE BOTTOM CLEANING
When the working cycles are completed, i.e. after product has been unloaded in the feed troughs, it is advisable to load fibrous
material (straw or hay) and let the machine run a while until moisture, that may have remained in the body, is absorbed and
corrosion is limited on the machine bottom.
This cleaning cycle should be carried out especially if the mixer remains idle for long periods (10-20 days or more). In this case
it is also recommended to put an anti-corrosion agent on both the bottom and the blades.
IMPORTANT!!!
In DS models featuring electrical controls and a clutch, the battery
disconnector
MUST
be plugged out at the end of the working cycle to prevent the
tractor battery from going down.
MACHINE STORAGE
Should the machine be unused, first clean it thoroughly and then store it in a location where it sits on a flat and solid surface.
Lower the support foot, place wedges under the wheels and (if the machine is provided with a braking system) engage the
parking brake.
Before starting up the machine after a long period of inactivity, check the various points outlined in the “MAINTENANCE”
section
(pages 37 and 38)
of this manual to ensure efficient operation.
Sect. 5.7 SAFETY STOP
