01.05.07  Replace cam follower 

 
Preparation:

 disassemble camshaft housing  

  cover. 
 
 
1.  Loosen adjusting screw (ill.1/pos.1) with 

special tool No. VR00125/0. 

2.  Lift cam follower spring (ill.1/pos.2) with 

special tool No. V000121/0. 

 

3.  Compress valve spring (ill.1/pos.3) with 

special tool No. VR00106/0. 

 

 

NOTE: 

Crankshaft is first to be turned in a 

position which prevents collision between 
valve - piston bottom. 
 

ATTENTION:

  Before relaxing the valve 

spring, check whether the 
valve keepers (ill.1/pos.4) are 
still positioned correctly. 

ENGINE DAMAGE! 

 

 

4.  Lift cam follower from valve stem top and 

turn sideward. 

 
5.  Lift cam follower from ball pin. 
 
6.  Lift cam follower by means of needle-

nosed pliers. 

 
 
NOTE:
