Chapter 3: Alerts and Errors
Note
The NAVIGAT 100 provides a serial bidirectional interface for a central
alert management system (CAM) according to specified standards ISO
16328 and IEC 61924-2.
Note
All alerts of the NAVIGAT 100 gyrocompass system are category B alerts
according to IEC 61924-2.
Note
From software version 1.110 on, the NAVIGAT 100 supports the respon-
sibility transfer of alerts according IEC 61924-2.
The responsibility transfer enables the Central Alert Management (CAM)
to takeover the responsibility of the alert from the NAVIGAT 100.
Note
The retrieval of alerts by the CAM (= Responsibility Transfer) is handled
automatically according to the settings of the CAM in place.
Transferred pending active alerts are under the responsibility of the CAM
and automatically silenced (no mute, no acknowledge at the NAVIGAT
100 CDU).
Note
In case the CAM gets inactive (heartbeat error) all previously transferred
alerts are automatically re transferred to the NAVIGAT 100 with the alert
state Active Unacknowledged.
Note
The NAVIGAT 100 does not provide yet alert grouping respectively alert
aggregation according to the Bridge Alert Management (BAM) standard.
