Finalizing the Installation
1. Go to the”Manual Settings Menu” on page 2-20.
2. Set the input data parameters in the Manual Settings menu to suita-
ble values. Wherever possible, automatic data input should be
selected in preference of manual input.
3. After configuration, go to the”Service Setup 998” on page 7-36 to
undertake hardware tests of the system equipment in operation. Use
the several test modes as described in the menu.

The test mode is functional even if the gyrosphere is not yet installed
(the baseplate test is however not functional without installed gyro-
sphere).
4. To bring the gyrocompass system into working order, the existing
alignment error must then be determined exactly and the error cor-
rection applied as described under ”Alignment Error Correction” on
page 6-12. and ”HEADING CORR. (Correction) VALUE” on page 7-7.
5. If required, determine the correction values for the magnetic com-
pass heading and enter the magnetic compass calibration table as
described under ”Magnetic Compass Calibration” on page 6-14.
