When an error is detected relating to a startup operation or relating to an adjustment before writing, one of the following error codes is displayed.

1. Eject the cartridge.
2. Insert again the ejected cartridge.
• In the case no error occurs:
The problem is fixed. Use the unit as it is.
• In the case the error occurs:
Go to step 3 in the error remedy method.
3. Insert another cartridge.
• In the case no error occurs:
The ejected cartridge is likely to be faulty.
Tip
For how to handle the defective cartridge, contact your local Sony Sales
Office/Service Center.
• In the case the error occurs:
A drive fault is likely.
4. Check that there is no dust or dirt on the turn table surface of the spindle
motor.
Note
If there is dust or dirt on the turn table surface of the spindle motor, the
disc chucking operation is not performed properly and the eccentricity
may increase.

The unit still can read data even though the unit cannot record data onto
the cartridge.
2. Insert another cartridge. Record data to the cartridge.
