The SA actuator of optical
block assembly Ch-1B can-
not detect the reference posi-
tion. (On side 0)
1.
Eject a cartridge.
2.
Startup the maintenance menu and perform
SA ACTUATOR.
• When no error occurs, use the unit as
it is.
• When an error occurs, go to step 3) in
Measures.
3.
Check the flexible flat cable connection be-
tween the main base assembly and the
DR-683 board.
If this problem still remains, the optical block as-
sembly (OP-1) or the DR-683 board may be de-
fective.

The spindle motor does not
work (or there is no FG sig-
nal) after the specified time
period has passed.
1.
Eject a cartridge.
2.
Startup the maintenance menu and perform
SPINDLE MOTOR AUTO TEST.
• When no error occurs, use the unit as
it is.
• When an error occurs, go to step 3) in
Measures.
3.
Check the carry loader assembly installation
status.
4.
Check the flexible flat cable connection be-
tween the main base assembly and the
DR-683 board.
If this problem still remains, the spindle motor or
the DR-683 board may be defective

The spindle motor cannot be
stopped and continues to ro-
tate (or the FG signal is ab-
normal).
1.
Eject a cartridge.
2.

Optical block assembly
Ch-2A is recording data with
the maximum laser output.
(On side 1)
1.
Eject a cartridge.
2.
Check laser parameter 2 of hours meter.
When laser parameter 2 of hours meter has:
• not reached the end of replacement cy-
cle:
There is something wrong with the op-
tical or electrical system in optical
block assembly (OP-2).
• reached the end of replacement cycle:
It is likely laser in optical block as-
sembly (OP-2) reached to the end of its
life cycle.
3.
Replace optical block assembly (OP-2).
