10. Select the 15 lines in the center of monitor screen C by
using the 15 LINE SELECT on the waveform monitor.
11. Put the waveform monitor into the CHROMA mode.
5-11. VA Gain Adjustment
Note:
For the VA gain adjustment, using an 89.9%-reflective
grayscale chart is preferable.
Before beginning adjustment, be sure to set the illumina-
tion of the light source (or the lumirous intensity on the
chart surface) and to set the color temperature exactly.
For details, refer to Section 5-1-3 “Maintaining the Gray-
scale Chart”
Equipment : Oscilloscope, Waveform monitor
Object : Grayscale chart
Preparations:

This adjustment shall be performed at F7.0 or more.

WHITE BAL switch (on the side panel)

Extend VA-163A board with EX-464 board.
Adjustment Procedures:
1. Set the DISP switch (on the side panel) from OFF to
MENU while holding down the MENU SEL switch
(on the front panel).
2. Set the menu as follows.
MENU : Paint
PAGE : W.Clip/Knee (P6)
ITEM : Knee

3. Close the lens iris.
4. Execute the level auto setup.
Press the MENU SEL switch to execute.
MENU : Operation
PAGE : Auto Setup
ITEM : Auto Level
5. Confirm the black level is 3 IRE for NTSC or 21 mV
for PAL at the TEST OUT connector.
If the black level is out of specs, carry out “5-15.
Master Black Adjustment”.
6. Test Point : TP72 (GND:TP71)/extension board
(extending VA-163A)
Iris of the lens
: A = 125 mV (at F7.0 or more)
(Oscilloscope)
7. Set the RGB/ENC switch (on the side panel) to RGB.
Set the R/G/B switch (on the side panel) to G.
8. Adjust the VA gain for G.
Test Point : TEST OUT connector
Adjustment Point : 1 RV300 (G GAIN)/VA-163A

: The levels A and B are shall be
equal when the test waveform is
switched between 2 and off.
