4.9.6.4 BAR
COUNTER
The bar counter is used for the setting of the number of bars loaded from the magazine,
which still have to be machined by the lathe. The bar counter state is displayed on the status
bar, see Chapter 4.9.3. When the machining of the last bar is completed, the barfeeder
ejects the rest of the bar, returns the pusher to the back limit position, cancels the automatic
cycle and sends error message to the lathe.
How to activate the bar counter
•
Select . The field with current value of the bar counter will appear on the display.
•
Select the required number of bars (e.g. 0) and confirm it by
.
is in the status bar now. This means that the barfeeder will let to machine the bar which
is already in the lathe, eject its rest, and stop, as it is to feed 0 bars.
How to deactivate the bar counter
•
Select . The display shows the current value of the bar counter.

Press again.
is in the status bar now. This means that the bar counter is inactive. In this case the
barfeeder will work until the magazine is empty.
4.9.6.5
QUICK ADJUSTMENT OF THE FEEDING FORCE (#300)
The key
is used for quick adjustment of the feeding force directly in the automatic mode
without the need of searching the parameter #300. Thus the feeding force can be adjusted
operatively under the barfeeder run in the active automatic cycle.
How to adjust the feeding force
•
Select . The field with current value of the feeding force will appear on the display.
•
Select required value and confirm it by
.
The new value will be used by the barfeeder in its next forward motion.
4.9.6.6
OPENED COVER OF THE MAGAZINE
Barfeeders with CE certificate are equipped with the magazine cover, which, if open, locks
the barfeeder motion in the automatic cycle. If the cover is open during the automatic cycle
at an ill-timed moment (during bar feeding or replacement), it may cause an error of the
barfeeder and stoppage of the lathe.
It is recommended to replenish the magazine only with automatic cycle switched off. If it is
necessary to replenish the material under operation (with the automatic cycle switched on),
use the following procedure:
•
Wait until the lathe begins to machine the part. At this moment the barfeeder is not
running.
•
Open the magazine.
•
Now you can replenish the magazine for "as long as you need".
•
After replenishment, close the magazine.
•
Cancel eventual message no. 9 using the key
to enable continuation of automatic
operation of the barfeeder.
If during replenishing the lathe sends the M-code, the barfeeder will remain at standstill,
and the display shows the message no. 9. In this case the barfeeder waits for the cover
closing and cancellation of the message.
