CONFIGURATION
HGW-BWH
INFORMATION
To optimally utilize the available frequency band, the WLAN channels and
channel width must be selected correctly.
For a WLAN with IEEE 802.11g or 802.11n, the channels are arranged
according to the 5- or 6-interval rule to operate several access points next
to each other optimally.
1+6+11 (channel assignment for USA)
1+7+13 (channel assignment for Europe)
The reason for this is that the defined channels interfere with the
neighboring channels in a reduced form. If access points are place farther
than 30 meters apart, the channel selection can be set tighter e.g.: (1+3).
At this distance, interference is already very low.
With a denser channel assignment:
Two WLAN networks with the same channel interfere with each other the
least. If the channels half overlap, one WLAN perceives the other as
interference and tries to suppress the other with low modulation and
maximum transmission power.
12.1.2 5 GHz WLAN
Please note that in our devices, DFS/TPC is inactive and the corresponding channels are not
recommended!
