The DP/ASi link, as the ASi master, periodi-
cally polls the I/O code and the ID code of
all the ASi slaves possible.

Poll the data of all ASi slaves
Was at least one ASi
During the polling cycle, the DP/ASi link
must detect at least one ASi slave.
If no ASi slave is present, the DP/ASi link
does not resume start-up. The five ASi
SLAVE FAIL LEDs flash. This is followed
by a return to step 9.

Once the parameterization message has been
received, the DP/ASi link compares the set-
point and actual configurations.
If you selected the ”actual is equal to set-
point configuration”, start-up is resumed
only if the setpoint and actual configurations
are identical. In the event of an error, you
return to step 7.
If you selected ”actual is less than or equal
to setpoint configuration”, you return to
step 7 only if unconfigured ASi slaves are
present.

Once the configuration message has been
received, the DP/ASi link compares the spe-
cified structure of the data message with the
self-detected structure.
If the DP/ASi detects an error, you return to
step 7.

Reset LEDs

The DP/ASi link resets the LEDs.
If no errors have been detected, only the
green ”RUN” LED is on.
In the case of ”actual is less than or equal to
setpoint configuration” and if there are no
configured ASi slaves, the corresponding
error LEDs are on. The missing slave having
the lowest address is displayed.
If an error occurs during start-up, it is detected and evaluated internally. De-
pending on the error, either the whole start-up process or a part thereof is re-
