2.3.3.4 SINEC L1 Bus Terminal

Ready-made cables are available for connecting to the
PC/computer and to the S5 CP524/525 module.
In order to connect to the CP530 (SINEC L1), the cabling
of the bus terminals BT777 must be carried out in
accordance with the description of the SINEC L1.
A case with the dimensions of the ES 030 is available for
installing the bus terminal on the ES 030-K.
With a total length of less than 1000 m and no other devices
on the CP530, the RS485 connection (4-wire) may be
used instead of the BT777 bus terminals on the ES 030-K.
In this case, the special distribution boxes described in
Chapter 2.3.3.5 must be utilised.
2.3.3.5 SINEC L1 Junction Box/Last Terminal Box
The L1 junction boxes are required at all points where an
ES 030-K is to be connected to the SINEC L1 bus. They
consist of a metal case with circuit board to which the SINEC L1
bus as well as the ES 030 can be connected. Each cable shield
must be connected to the case using a large surface area.
The last terminal box contains a built-in terminating resistor.
Therefore, wiring the terminating resistor on the ES 030-K is
not required; also, the last unit on the SINEC L1 bus can be
exchanged without problems.

PROFIBUSDP
The following figure shows the standardized PROFIBUSDP
connection to a 9way, subminiature D plug connector.
We recommend using standard components for bus cables
and connection plugs (cf. ET 200 manual).
