The MOBIC retains these settings following a reset. If, however, you run a cold
reset, the settings are reset to the standard serial port.
3. Establishing a Connection using Infrared

Align the infrared ports on both computers. Infrared links function best when
the distance between the two infrared ports is approximately 15 cm.

Click/tap Programs, Communication and PC Link one after the other on the
MOBIC.
To establish an infrared connection follow the steps as explained in the help
system of ActiveSync on your host PC (Start - > Programs - > Microsoft
ActiveSync - > Help - > Microsoft ActiveSync Help - > Index - > IR
Connections). The procedure is otherwise basically the same as establishing a
serial connection (see 6.2.2).

Establishing a Connection with a Host Computer via Ethernet
Before you establish a connection via Ethernet, you must first configure the
connection (see Section 6.3)
To establish a connection via Ethernet, follow the steps below:
1. As described above, set up a partnership via a serial connection.
2. Then disconnect the serial connection by removing the serial cable.
