7.3 Testing the point detector
Depending on the detector, testing may be performed with one or more of the
following accessories:
Detector exchanger and tester FDUD292 or intelligent detector tester
FDUD293 (recommended)
Test gas, optical
– REF 8-S (recommended)
– REF 8
CO test gas
– REF 8-C (for CO sensor)
Hot air fan
7.3.1 Testing the fire detection functionality
The following table shows the accessories with which the FDOOTC241 can be
tested in the various sensor modes.

In test mode, the detector responds according to the sensor mode selected. This
means when the neural fire detector is operated as a heat detector (sensor
mode 1), it must be thermally checked as well.
A CO test is only possible if a parameter set which includes CO is selected in the
detector.
Selecting test mode for the fire zone on the fire control panel does not deactivate
evaluation of the functionality of the 'Technical CO Alarm' and 'Technical Ambient
Supervision Message'.
When the detector is working in alarm condition, the internal alarm indicator
flashes brightly every second.
