3.7.1
Function of the pressurized enclosure
■
A pressurized enclosure prevents an explosive atmosphere from being created
inside the enclosure.
To this purpose
–
the gas analyzer enclosure is filled with a protective gas.
–
the gas pressure inside the gas analyzer enclosure is higher than the ambi‐
ent air pressure.
Functionality during operation
The pressurized enclosure system functions in “leakage compensation” operating
mode: A protective gas pressure is created in the gas analyzer enclosure after pre-purg‐
ing has completed. If the protective gas pressure drops below the minimum pressure
set, protective gas feed is activated until the rated pressure is reached again.

Safety functions for pressurized enclosures
GM32 Ex category 3G
Malfunction of pressurized enclosure: An alarm signal is output.
NOTICE
The operating company is responsible for the evaluation of the alarm signal. See the
Pressurized Enclosure System Manual.

Start-up: The enclosure is pre-purged automatically before start-up. The main
power supply for the gas analyzer should be switched on after pre-purging is com‐
plete.
•
Malfunction of the pressurized enclosure system: The main power supply of the
gas analyzer is switched off automatically.
