Mount the Ruler3000 with respect to the defined field of view (FOV), see
, and other equipment to be used by the vision system, such
as encoder and photoelectric switch. The field of view is located at a certain distance
from the device, the stand-off, and is a trapezoid-shaped area in the laser plane.
The maximum height and the maximum width of the object to be inspected define a
rectangle that must be entirely inside the trapezoid total FOV. For correct measurement
results, the laser line must be vertical and perpendicular to the movement direction of
the object.
Mount the Ruler3000 in a position above the surface to be scanned. The default scan
direction is shown in
. If a scan is performed in the opposite direction, the
acquired image will be mirrored in the Y direction, see
where different triggering
modes are described.
