HP Heavy-Duty Industrial Tilting Spindle Shaper
Spindle Tilt
The Model W1807 has a tilting spindle feature to allow a
wider variety of cutter profiles. The spindle tilts from -5°
to +45°.
To change the tilt of the spindle, do these steps:
1.
DISCONNECT THE SHAPER FROM POWER!
2.
Loosen the lock knob on the spindle tilt handwheel
(see
Figure 17
).
3.
Loosen the spindle tilt locks located on either side of
and underneath the table (see
Figure 18
).
4.
Rotate the spindle tilt handwheel and watch the tilt
dial indicator to bring the spindle to the required
degree of tilt.
Note:
The tilt dial is graduated in increments of 1°.
5.
To secure the tilt setting, tighten the handwheel
lock knob and the side spindle tilt locks.
NOTICE
When using the tilt feature, make sure
the spindle and cutter are clear of
the table inserts and fence boards.
Otherwise, severe damage may result
to the cutter and shaper.
