HP Heavy-Duty Industrial Tilting Spindle Shaper
To install the fence boards, do these steps:
1.
Slide the fence mounting bars into the mount-
ing brackets so the beveled ends of the fence are
toward the spindle (see
Figures 9 & 10
).
Note:
There are two threaded holes on the fence
board mounting bar. Use the hole farthest from the
cutter to move the fence board closest to the cut-
ter. Conversely, use the threaded hole closest to
the cutter to move the fence board farthest from
the cutter.
2.
Secure the fence to the mounting brackets with the
M10-1.5 x 35 hex bolts, lock washers, and flat wash-
ers (see
Figure 10
).
The horizontal hold-downs keep the workpiece firmly
against the fence as it moves past the cutter.
To install the horizontal hold-downs, do these steps:
1.
Slide the hold-down fingers into the horizontal hold-
down brackets, as shown in
Figure 11
.
2.
Secure the horizontal hold-down assemblies to the
table with the M10-1.5 x 60 hex bolts, lock washer,
and flat washers.
Note:
The direction of the horizontal hold-down fin-
ger shown in
Figure 11
is correct when the cutter is
rotating FORWARD, and the workpiece is passing the
cutter from right-to-left.
Position the horizontal hold-down fingers in the
opposite direction (pointing to the right) when the
cutter is rotating in REVERSE, and the workpiece is
passing the cutter from left-to-right.
