NOTICE
Interference with other network nodes due to incorrect network settings
Incorrect network settings can adversely affect or interfere with the functions of other
network nodes The network settings for Ethernet are defined by the system
administrator and must be set accordingly on the device.
If the settings are not known, the (patch) cable must not be connected.
Autonegotiation is a method used by network communication peers to automatically
negotiate the highest possible transmission rate. SENTRON PAC4200 is automatically set to
the transmission rate of the communication peer if the latter does not support
autonegotiation.
MDI-X auto crossover describes the ability of the interface to autonomously detect the send
and receive lines of the connected device and adjust to them. This prevents malfunctions
resulting from mismatching send and receive wires. Both crossed and uncrossed cables can
be used.
