1.

 

Take a Thickness Verification Unit (TVU) (

See Image at Right

) and place the probe head inside 

the TVU until it stops. Insert a battery into the location as 
shown in the image – this will turn on a rotating piece of film 
inside the TVU. 

2.

 

Turn on the 

SpecMetrix® 

software. 

3.

 

Select the appropriate NIST Recipe for the TVU. 

TVU

 

4.

 

Run the NIST recipe to make sure the values being read are within an acceptable tolerance 
range to the NIST traceable value shown on the TVU.
