4.5 COMMAND
SHELL
It is necessary to connect the COM port of the PC to "terminal" socket of Alyseo. Start any
program for terminal emulation and configure the COM port as follows:
If the settings of the COM port must be changed, the user will be noticed by a proper message on
the screen.
Once connected, a welcome page appears asking for the password. At first start-up, the password
is "selta". After the first access, it can be changed by the user. CLI provides two user levels: "user"
and "superuser". To pass to the "superuser" mode, type the command "enable" and insert the
password of “superuser”. Once the password has been typed, it is possible to access to the
configuration menu of Alyseo 106.
It is possible to change the access password to the shell and the one of “superuser” by means of
the command “secret” present in “superuser” menu.
The help can be recalled any time, typing the '?' character (not echoed on video) and the
commands available on this level with a brief description will be automatically listed on the screen;
otherwise, if a command has been already typed, the sub-commands supported by this one will be
listed.
Continue in this way until, typing '?', the writing "<ENTER> no further known parameters" is not
displayed on video, that is no other parameters are necessary for the command string inserted
and ENTER can be pressed.
Therefore, the syntax of CLI foresees the configuration of Alyseo by means of commands and
sub-commands that can be easily completed using help '?'.
There are commands to change level (in this case, also the prompt changes), commands that
read the database and commands that set the value of a particular parameter in the database. CLI
allows also the automatic completion of the commands using the TAB key, by means of the short-
cut of the commands themselves (when they can be discriminated) and the history of the
command lines by means of the arrow keys (up e down).
The configuration of the database parameters is possible only in "superuser" mode.
To come back to the immediately higher level in the tree, type "done" or press Ctrl+D.
In case of very long output on video, CLI displays them in several parts. Press the spacebar to
display all of them or the ENTER key to scroll them one by one.
