9 Console
This chapter describes removal and installation procedures for the console and
related components on a Segway PT.
WARNING!
• Failure to follow these safety precautions could lead to electrical shock,
serious injury, death, or damage to property.
• Read all instructions.
• Power off the Segway PT.
• Unplug the Segway PT.
• Wear safety glasses to avoid eye injury.
CAUTION!
• When a repair involves opening the console or chassis cover, best
practice electrostatic discharge (ESD) control procedures must be
followed. Failure to follow ESD procedures could result in personal
injury or damage to property.
When to Replace
Replace a console component when diagnostic testing determines that the
component is defective. For diagnostic procedures, contact a Segway Service
Representative.
