Dynamic Signal Analyzer
The Mach-DSP includes a Dynamic Signal Analyzer, which can be used to evaluate the
spectral flatness and rolloff of a particular scanner tuning, as well as to locate the
frequency and severity of torsional resonances. The Dynamic Signal Analyzer is
accessed using the Tools menu as shown below.
To use the Dynamic Signal Analyzer, select an axis and test signal level and press Run
Analysis. The Dynamic Signal Analyzer will sweep a test signal from 100Hz to 60kHz
while monitoring the amplitude of the position signal in comparison to the test signal.
Once the analysis is run, you can move your mouse in the window and check the level
(in db) and frequency (in Hz). Peaks shown in the response represent torsional
resonances. You can use the information gathered in this window to set the notch filter.
