UPS Installation and Wiring
23
⑥
Connect the ground to the
terminal of the terminal block. Use class D grounding for the ground.
⑦
Connect the utility power supply to the “INPUT L and N” input terminals.
⑧
Connect the customer's load to the “OUTPUT L and N” output terminals.
⑨
Check that the wires are connected properly.
⑩
Reattach the terminal block cover removed in step 3.
⑪
Attach the cable cover for UPS unit 1 on the UPS unit 1 rear panel using four screws D.
Do not connect the following types of load devices to the UPS.
Load Device
Reason
Laser printers, plain paper faxes,
copiers, OHPs, vacuum cleaners,
dryers, etc.
Since such devices are subject to high transient current surges, the
UPS will detect current surges and the battery backup operation
will become no longer possible when a power outage occurs. There
is also the danger of the UPS malfunctioning.
Medical instruments, control devices
for elevators, computer systems of
public significance
Special considerations need to be given to operation, maintenance,
and management, such as system redundancy and the installation
of emergency power generation facilities.
Terminal Connection Procedure
1. Strip about 16mm of insulation each wire. Insert the wire into the terminals.
2. Tighten the screw hole in the side of the terminal block with the specified tightening torque(3 N
・
m) by using
a flat-bladed screwdriver.
3. Pull the inserted wire to make sure that it does not come out.
When disconnecting wires, disconnect the ground last.
Be careful of the polarity of the input power when performing wiring work.
When the input is single-wire grounded, make sure you connect the ground phase to the N terminal.
If the load device to be connected is single-wire grounded, be sure to connect the ground phase to the N phase side.
Notes on terminal block wiring
Prohibited load devices
See the table below and connect the wires of the specified sizes.
Please make sure to use the copper wire that is rated temperature
of 75°C or more.
