It is recommended to enter basic IP configuration of local and remote units (IDUs) at the very
beginning. This step is necessary for proper communication between local and remote side and
optionally for ensuring remote access to IDU devices from customer´s network. In our example we use
basic type of out-of-band management access (factory default configuration). Our examples suppose
that remote IP access will be provided from the direction of LOCATION1_M. For this mode we have set
following IP addresses:
For link site with name LOCATION1_M
Primary IP / Mask = 192.168.3.201/24
Default Gateway IP = 192.168.3.1
Remote Unit IP = 192.168.3.211
For opposite link site with name LOCATION2_M
Primary IP / Mask = 192.168.3.211/24
Default Gateway IP = 192.168.3.201
Remote Unit IP = 192.168.3.201
The remote device (IDU) must have equal IP addresses (primary IP and remote IP) set vice-versa.
Select in your web browser menu
„IP / Address”
(Figure 34). Enter the above assigned primary IP
address / net-mask, default gateway IP address and IP address of remote IDU on both sites. Confirm
entered values by pressing APPLY button.
NOTE:
It is necessary to assign just correct Primary IP and Remote Unit IP addresses for installation
purposes. Informations from remote units cannot be displayed when this step is skipped. Next IP
settings can be applied during complete link configuration.
