7.1 Three-point-step controller
If the set

is to be valid for the control time of the particular actuator, the
motor running time

set. The smallest adjustment interval is 80ms.
If optimization is to be based on control response, the information in Table 1 must be noted.
Setting the neutral zone
The neutral zone

can be enlarged, if the switch outputs alternate switching with too great a frequency.
However, it should be noted that a larger neutral zone causes weaker responses to adjustments.
For this reason it is advisable to find a reasonable balance between frequent switching (wearing out the actuator) and
responsiveness to adjustments.
Static functioning of the three-step controller
Three-step controllers can be operated with or without position feedback Yp.
Yp is not needed for controls. The illustration shows the static characteristics
of the three- step controller.
