3.2 Removing the controller from the housing
For maintenance or service work the controller insert can be removed from the housing, with
the housing and its wiring remaining in the system.
a
If this procedure is carried out with the operating voltage still on, the live terminals
in the controller housing must be insulated in case they are touched.
l
The electronic parts of the controller include components sensitive to static electricity. Suitable steps must
be taken to avoid static discharges.
a
If a number of controllers are being removed care must be taken to ensure that the controllers are re-installed
in their own housings! This is important not only because of the hardware but also because of the configured
data in the controllers.
In order to remove the insert from the housing the captive locking screw in the front part of the controller
must be unscrewed.
This releases the insert from the housing until it can be taken out.
3.3 Installing the controller in the housing
Ensure
that the
controller insert
to be installed actually belongs to this
housing
.
Position the insert carefully into the correct insert position into the guide rails in the housing and
slide it in without pressure. There will be a small gap between the front and the frame. Tighten the
locking screw in the front of the controller until the insert sits firmly in the housing.
3.4 Installing and removing substitute or replacement controllers!!
To ensure that the controllers can be properly allocated in the event of a warranty claim, it is
absolutely
necessary
to replace the entire controller ( housing) .
