Boiling Spaghetti or Other Pasta in Your 5in1
Cooking System
™
You can use up to 1 full pound of dried spaghetti.
1. Lower the Wire Basket into the Fryer’s Inner Cooking Bowl so that it is resting on
the Heating Element.
2. Take half of the dried spaghetti and break it apart at the middle, then place both
handfuls in a crisscross pattern at the bottom of the Wire Basket. Do the same with
the other half of the dried spaghetti.
3. Pour exactly 3½ Qts. of water over the spaghetti-fi lled basket. Add 2 tbsps. of oil to
help prevent the pasta from sticking together.
4. For al dente spaghetti, set the Timer to 15 minutes.
5. Within 8-10 minutes, use a pasta fork to stir and separate the spaghetti strands.
6. When the bell goes off, your spaghetti is done. Lift the Wire Basket and place
handles in draining position holes. Allow water to drain off for about 10 seconds.
7. Remove Wire Basket completely and rinse spaghetti with cold water to stop the
cooking process.
8. Drain excess water and pour spaghetti into a bowl. Add your favorite pasta sauce
and enjoy!
Linguini, angel hair, fettuccini and rigatoni are cooked in a similar fashion except the
cooking times differ.
Penne – 15 minutes
Macaroni – 15 minutes
Rigatoni – 17 minutes
Angel Hair – 12 minutes
Fettuchini – 15 minutes
Linguini – 15 minutes
Very small or tiny pasta cannot be boiled in the Wire Basket because the small pasta
will fall through the basket’s holes. After boiling, use your own strainer to drain any
small or tiny pasta.
