Transfer the MER File Through the Ethernet Network
The following section applies to MobileView terminals purchased since May 2016,
which use the Ethernet network to transfer the runtime application (MER) file
between your personal computer and the MobileView terminal.
To initially configure FactoryTalk View ME Station, perform the following steps.
1.
Create a MER file with FactoryTalk View Studio software on your
personal computer.
2.
Within FactoryTalk View Studio software, launch the transfer utility.
3.
On the Download tab of the transfer utility dialog box, select the
following:
• The MER file that you just created on your personal computer as the
source file (A).
• The destination storage type as External Storage 1 (B).
This selection places the MER file on the SD card of your MobileView
terminal.
• Select your MobileView terminal as the destination terminal (C).
• Click Download (D).
4.
On the MobileView 2711T terminal-desktop, tap FTView ME Station.
IMPORTANT EWF must disabled before you configure FTView ME settings, and then enabled
afterwards. For more information, see
Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) on page 57 .
TIP See the graphic with step 6 on page 62 for where the MER file resides
on the SD card.
