Install and Operate the Junction Boxes
Junction Box Overview There are three junction boxes available for MobileView™ terminals. There is one
IP20-rated junction box, which can only work with first generation MobileView
terminals, 20-pin connector cables, and the silver, 20-pin bridge connector. There
are two IP65-rated junction boxes, both which work with select MobileView
terminals

, 22-pin connector cables, and the black,
22-pin bridge connector.
An IP20 junction box must be installed inside a control cabinet. Both IP65
junction boxes can be installed outside a control cabinet. One IP65 junction box,
2711T-JBIP65DMI, provides On-Machine™ connectivity, where you can move
the junction box closer to the application or on the machine, thus reducing the
number of components in a control cabinet.
A second generation MobileView terminal can be connected and disconnected
from an IP65 junction box for 10 seconds without opening the machine,
equipment, or system-based E-stop circuits. A black, 22-pin bridge connector or
another second generation MobileView terminal must be connected within 10
seconds, or the two junction box E-stop circuits are opened for safety reasons and
an E-stop is triggered.

(1) IP65 junction boxes work with 2711T-F10GIN1, 2711T-T10G1N1, 2711T-B10I1N1, and 2711T-T10I1N1-TC MobileView terminals.
WARNING: You cannot use an IP65 junction box with 2711T-B10K1N1, 2711T-
B10M1N1, or 2711T-T10R1N1 MobileView terminals, which are terminals with
a key switch or a momentary push button.
WARNING: Although IP65 junction box 2711T-JBIP65DMI provides
On-Machine connectivity, do not install this junction box in an area or on a
surface that is a hazardous location.
IMPORTANT The safety electronics of the E-stop bypassing of an IP65 junction box are
designed with double circuits, and facilitates implementation up to Category 4,
Performance Level e (CAT. 4, PLe) in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 or
SIL 3 in accordance with EN 61508.
