Figure 5: Connection assignment of the TME400
Refer to
Figure 5: Connection assignment of the TME400
for the assignment.
If, for example, the TME400 is to be used as a "flow sensor", the current must be
connected to 4..20 mA (
terminal block X9
). The 4..20 mA current is then connected
to the two terminals. For this function, the optional current module must be plugged in
at the top left (see
Figure 6: Electronics with cover of the calibration button
).
The "sensor" TME400 is passive, it is fed and limits the current to the corresponding
value. With this use, the current serves as an additional current supply (see
chapter
1.3.3 Power supply
). Here, care must be taken to ensure that this power supply is
galvanically isolated.
If digital communication with the TME400 is required, it can be connected to the
RS485. The differential signals are obtained via data lines A and B under RS485
(
terminal block X6
). Please pay attention to crossed signal lines and change the
connections if appropriate. If necessary, the data interface can be conditioned using
a jumper. Normally, the resistance is infinitely large (ꝏ
); for a point-to-point con-
nection or if the terminal device is part of a bus system, the resistance must be set to
120
.
