Bring Icon Bar forward automatically
The Icon Bar to front option sets how long you have to leave your pointer at the bottom of
the screen before the Icon Bar pops to the front of the stack.
The Network tool
This Configure tool allows you to set up all aspects of inter-computer communication. It is
primarily designed around Local Area Networks (LANs) and internet access via the built-in
Ethernet network port (through a router or other gateway). Dialup Internet access should be
configured elsewhere, such as in your internet/modem logon software.
There are three separate sections
•
AUN
This stands for Acorn Universal Networking and is designed to support Acorn's AUN Level
4 networking structure. These are often found in schools.
•
Access
This is the peer-to-peer networking protocol used by RISC OS machines. It allows drives
and printers to be shared around a local network. It is quick and easy to set up, and is the
system of choice for many small RISC OS networks.
•
Internet
The section which applies to the setting up of TCP/IP networks. This is more complex than
either of the above, but is necessary if you envisage multi-platform networking, especially if
you are planning networked Internet access.
For further details on network configuration, please consult your Network Administrator or
local dealer / supplier.
