4. QL and PTL
In preparation for the next copy cycle, light
from the quenching lamp neutralizes any latent
image charge remaining on the drum.
The cold cathode lamp used for quenching is
similar to the PTL; however, the light intensity
of the QL is slightly less than that of the PTL.
This is because of the darkness of the filter
colors. The cold cathode lamp has the
characteristics of low power consumption and
low heat output combined with strong, even
light output.
5. Drum Heater
The drum heater (8 W) is located above the drum to warm the drum when the main
switch is off.
