Wrong connection prevention

Bit 3 Bit 2 Setting
0 0 None
0 1 8 digit CSI
1 0 4 digit CSI
1 1 CSI/RTI
(01) - The machine will not transmit if the last 8
digits of the received CSI do not match the last 8
digits of the dialed telephone number. This does
not work for manual dialing.
(10) - The same as above, except that only the
last 4 digits are compared.
(11) - The machine will not transmit if the other
end does not identify itself with an RTI or CSI.
(00) - Nothing is checked; transmission will
always go ahead.
Note: When enabling wrong connection
prevention, disable AI short protocol.
4
Operator call if no response is
received in reply to NSF/DIS
0: Disabled 1: Enabled
Set this bit to 1 if the user expects to receive
telephone calls at the same number that the
machine is connected to. The machine will then
alert the user if a phone call comes in.

The receiving terminal informs the transmitting
terminal of the setting determined by these bits
in the pre-message protocol exchange (in the
DIS/NSF) frames.

Burst error threshold
0: Low
1: High
If the received page has more consecutive error
lines than the threshold, the machine sends a
negative response.
The low and high threshold values depend on
the sub-scan resolution, and are as follows.
Resolution Standard Detail
Low settings 6 12
High settings 12 24
This bit is ignored if ECM is in use.
1
Acceptable total error line ratio
0: 5%
1: 10%
If the error line ratio of a page exceeds the
acceptable ratio, RTN will be sent to the other
end.
This bit is ignored if ECM is in use.

0: Pages received with errors are not printed.
