SUBJECT: WHITE LINES / BANDS
SYMPTOM:
White lines or bands appear on the copy image. In almost every case, image density is low in the
lines/bands area.
CAUSE:
Toner remains on the drum after it passes under the
cleaning blade and adheres to the charge roller. The
amount of the toner remaining on the drum exceeds the
amount that can be cleaned off by the charge roller
cleaning pad, leading to toner accumulation on the
charge roller. The degree of toner accumulation on the
charge roller is directly related to the cleaning ability of
the cleaning blade. As a result of this accumulation, the
ability to charge the drum surface decreases which leads
to the white (lighter) lines/bands on the copy.
SOLUTION:
In addition to cleaning the charge roller, please check the cleaning blade. Even if no defective or
deteriorated areas can be found on the blade, it may be necessary to replace it with a new one.
UNITS AFFECTED:
All FT5535 Series copiers exhibiting the above symptom.
